Stand for Equality

Dear Friend,

Today is equality day. We are celebrating passage of the 19th Amendment, the amendment that gave women the right to vote. On August 26, 1920, our forefathers said women were equal to men for purposes of voting. Now, it is time to indelibly say: “There shall be no discrimination on the basis of sex.” It is time to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA).

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg challenged us when she said “women’s rights are an essential part of the overall human rights agenda, trained on the equal dignity and ability to live in freedom.” We cannot wait any longer to make Justice Ginsburg’s statement a reality.  Join the fight to elect lawmakers who will stand for human rights and take the steps necessary to ratify the ERA. Dollars raised through this email will be matched and distributed to Democratic challengers who support the ERA. Our daughters are depending on us. Please give whatever you can.
