IBEW Local 26 Endorses Sen. Favola for Re-Election in 2019 Race
ARLINGTON, VA – The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26 (IBEW-Local 26) announced today its endorsement of incumbent State Senator Barbara Favola for her 2019 re-election bid.
"I am deeply honored to announce the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 26. The IBEW has a long and proud history of standing up for our progressive causes and I am grateful to have earned the support of this organization," said Sen. Favola.
"Senator Favola has a proven record of standing up for working families. She has sponsored prevailing wage bills and legislation to increase access to affordable healthcare and to provide debt free community college opportunities. We also greatly appreciate her efforts promoting a construction workforce agreement between Amazon and the building trades to preempt wage theft and tax evasion on the prestigious Amazon HQ2 construction site. The men and women of the IBEW are proud to stand with Senator Favola because she has always stood with us," said George Hogan, Business Manager, IBEW Local Union 26.
Senator Barbara A. Favola represents Virginia’s 31st Senate district, which includes parts of Arlington and Fairfax counties, and a portion of Loudoun County. Senator Favola currently serves on the Local Government, Rehabilitation and Social Services, and Transportation Committees.
